Each line appearance can be programmed to ring in a different manner. You can choose Ring, Delay Ring, Ring Continuous, Delay Ring Continuous, or No Ring.
Ring causes your telephone to ring immediately and continuously. If a line is set to "Ring", it will only ring once when you are busy on your prime line.
Delay Ring causes your telephone to ring continuously after a programmable period has expired. (If you are busy on another line, the telephone rings only once.) "Delay Ring" is useful when a Prime line appears on multiple telephones. By assigning "Delay Ring" to the line for all appearances except its Prime, the user of the Prime line has the first opportunity to answer an incoming call.
Ring Continuous causes a line appearance on your telephone to ring immediately and continuously, even if you are busy on a another line. "Ring Continuous" is available on: 5020 IP Phone, 5220 IP Phone, 5220 IP Phone (Dual Mode), 5224 IP Phone, 5320/5320e IP Phone, 5330/5330e IP Phone, 5340/5340e IP Phone, 5360 IP Phone, 69xx IP Phones, and Navigator.
Delay Ring Continuous causes a line appearance on your telephone to ring continuously after a programmable period has expired, even if you are busy on a different line. "Delay Ring Continuous" is available on: 5020 IP Phone, 5220 IP Phone, 5220 IP Phone (Dual Mode), 5224 IP Phone, 5324 IP Phone, 5330/5330e IP Phone, 5340/5340e IP Phone, 69xx IP Phones, and Navigator.
No Ring causes your telephone not to ring, even if the set is idle. The associated line status indicator will flash in the normal manner.
Delay Ring is not programmable on Direct Station Select (DSS) or Secretarial Transfer keys.
Delay Ring and Delay Ring Continuous are overridden when:
a Callback rings the set
a Recall rings the set
Do Not Disturb is overridden by an incoming caller.
Ring Continuous and Delay Ring Continuous will not ring a telephone that is in a Handsfree call.
The Delay Ring Timer continues to run even when an incoming call on another line is ringing. If the ringing caller hangs up, the control of the ringing is given to the delay ring call.
On a Multicall line, when a call has been answered and another call rings the line, the Delay Ring Timer starts when the line starts flashing. When a call starts ringing while you are busy, the Delay Ring Timer starts when your line becomes free.
A station with a delay ring appearance of another set's prime number begins to ring when the Delay Ring Timer expires. The operation of the timer is unaffected by any other timers.
If an headset is connected with the set, then choose the line appearance ring type as Ring.
